Hillwalking Breaks (€65 per person)
Holycross is situated close to “Ned of the Hill Country” named after the leader of a small band of rapparees who championed the cause of the poor. Steeped in history and legend, the area has a number of waymarked walks suited to all abilities.
This package includes
- Complimentary tea/coffee and homemade scones on arrival
- 2 nights bed and full Irish breakfast
- Packed lunch to include local produce – Holycross Stores brown soda bread and Cooleeney Cheese
- Maps supplied for hill walks in Upperchurch.
- Drying facilities for your clothing and footwear
Price: €65 per person sharing. Local guide available at extra cost to share stories and legends. Dinner available at one of the nearby local restaurants within walking distance.
Trace Your Roots (€65 per person)
Anna has been assisting guests tracing their roots for many years. Her extensive local contacts may unlock the key to your family history.
This midweek break includes
- Complimentary tea/coffee and homemade scones on arrival
- 2 nights bed and full Irish breakfast
- Assistance and introductions to local historians, librarians and parish priests.
- Use of home computer
Price: €65 per person sharing. Dinner available at one of the nearby local restauarants.
Fishing / Fly fishing on River Suir (€80 per person)
The River Suir runs just nearby Boherna Lodge and anglers have been frequent guests at the Lodge over the years. They may even have left some tips there for fellow anglers!
Price includes:
- Complimentary tea/coffee and homemade scones on arrival
- 2 nights bed and full Irish breakfast
- Packed lunch to include local produce – Holycross Stores brown soda bread and Cooleeney Cheese
- Fishing permits included for one day.
Price: €80 per person sharing including one day fishing. Choice of two restaurants within walking distance of B&B.
Cycling Tour (€69 per person)
Travel slowly through the villages and sights of Tipperary – Holycross, Thurles, Borrisoleigh, Devils Bit, Cashel of the Kings and Dundrum . On a bike, you have time to appreciate the surrounding countryside and chat with locals.
